Top Nigerian official has disclosed AS Monaco defender Elderson Echiejile will be fit for the final World Cup warm-up against US on Saturday after injury forced him out of the clash against Greece.

Elderson limped out in the 39th minute with a suspected hamstring complaint in Wednesday’s goalless draw with Greece.
”It’s a minor tear of the muscle and it’s not that serious,” team spokesman Ben Alaiya said.

”I think he would be back running against the United States. Team doctors are already working on him.

”The doctors had to stop him from returning to the pitch as a precautionary measure as the World Cup is just days away. So, he was pulled out so that he does not aggravate whatever is the problem.”
