Ogunjobi, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, said that the team should put the disappointing goalless draw with Iran behind them.

“The players and the technical crew should put the disappointment of their inability to secure the maximum three points in their match against Iran behind them.

“We need to move on, what the team needs to do now is to focus on the second match against Bosnia. They did not perform badly in the match against Iran.

“I’m sure the handlers of the team know how to get the boys to convert their opportunities into goals.

“The truth is that I believe Eagles can still soar with support from all angles,” Ogunjobi said.

Ex-International, Peter Rufai, said that the Nigerian team was anxious to score in the match.

Rufai, a former goalkeeper of the Super Eagles, also said that the team’s defence, midfield and the attack did not connect well.

He urged the players to believe in themselves and not rest on their oars.

Segun Oguns, a former national team goalkeeper trainer, also said he believed that the connection between the midfield and the attack needed to be strengthened.

He said that they should go back to watch the video clips of the match to identify their mistakes in order to correct them ahead of their next match.

“The lapses they observe in the video clips should be used ahead of training in consequent matches to be played,’’ he said.

Festus Allen, a former coach of 3SC Football Club of Ibadan, said that the result of the match could affect the country chances of getting to the next stage of the tournament.

Allen urged the players to lift up their game in the next match against Bosnia and Herzegovina to secure the three points at stake.

“The result of our match against Iran can affect our qualification to the next round from the group.

“Our players should increase the tempo of their game in our next match, a win is a must if we have to go to the next round of the tournament,’’ he said.

Super Eagles is in group F along with Argentina, Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina in the ongoing 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
