SAO PAULO (AFP) – Sepp Blatter told the FIFA congress Wednesday that he was ready to stand for a new term as the world football body’s president, ignoring calls by European officials to end his reign.

“My mission is not finished… I’m ready to accompany you in the future,” said the 78-year-old, who had previously promised to stand down at the end of his fourth term.
