Naira records mixed trading against foreign currencies

Lagos -The Naira on Monday recorded mixed trading against the dollar at the three segments of the foreign exchange markets.

The Naira was traded at N155.23 to the dollar at the official market, compared with N154.2k it sold on Friday.

At the Bureau de Change, the Naira was traded at N167.5k to the dollar, as against N164 on Friday.

At the black market, the Naira also traded at N165, the same price it sold since May 2.

The Naira also traded on a mixed note against the Pound Sterling and the Euro, respectively.

At the official market, the Pound exchanged at N261.84k, compared with N262.5k at the close of trading on Friday.

The Naira, however, depreciated against the Pound at the Bureau de Change, where it sold at N280, against N271 on Friday.

At the black market, the Naira opened at N279 for the week, compared to the N270 it sold for between May 5 and May 9.

On the other hand, the Naira appreciated against the Euro at the official market, as it traded at N214, compared with N214.2k.

The Nigerian currency, the Naira also stood at N230 against the Euro at the Bureau de Change, compared with the N228 it sold for on May 9.
