The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (MPWB) says it has secured a befitting accommodation to its 1, 954 intending pilgrims for the 2014 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
Alhaji Usman Gurama, Executive Secretary of the board, disclosed this to newsmen in Gombe recently.
He said the facility acquired was close to Muharram (Holy Mosque) in Makkah
According to him, the accommodation is the one used in the last two to three years by the pilgrims from the state.
“We renew our contract, the house we have been using for the fast two to three years is still the house we occupy, it will accommodate everybody including our officials.
“It is only 900 metres away from the Muharram,” he said.
Gurama commended the intending pilgrims for their full cooperation during their screening and the ongoing induction course and urged them to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
He called on the government to continue with its support for the success of the pilgrimage.
The secretary said that intending pilgrims who could not secure a slot this year would be given priority during the 2015 Hajj.
