LAGOS—The senator representing Lagos East senatorial district, Gbenga Ashafa, has advised Nigerians to remain hopeful, despite  the insecurity challenge facing the country at present.

Ashafa made the remarks in his message on the occasion marking the 2014 Democracy Day today, at his constituency office in Ketu, Lagos.
He said: “Today marks another milestone in our democratic journey as a nation.

“Today has met us all at a time that can best be described as trying. We are a people and a nation in need of change, restoration, healing, reorientation and many other good things that are the hallmark of a progressive nation.
