The Labour Party, (LP) candidate, Mr. Opeyemi Bamidele, has been challenged to openly declare his assets, following the example earlier set by the incumbent governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi.

The South West Social and Economic Foundation, (SWEF) in a statement made available to Vanguard said Bamidele needs to explain the source of his ‘enormous wealth.’
The group in a statement issued by its Director, Ahmed Olokoju said that Mr. Bamidele has been preaching openness, justice and equity but that his failure to declare his assets shows that his public conducts negate what he professes.

Vote personalities, not parties—Kole Ajayi
Voters in Ekiti State have been advised to vote for personalities and not political parties in order to ensure good governance for the state.

Speaking after attending an emergency meeting of the Board of Trustees of Ekiti State University Alumni Association, the Accord governorship candidate, Mr Kole Ajayi stated that since there are no clear cut ideologies among political parties, the only yardstick for taking electoral decision is personality.
Ajayi further said that political parties are not sincere enough in view of the way parties operate without ideologies.

LP accuses APC of buying voters card
The Labour Party in Ekiti State has accused the All Progressives Congress, APC, of buying off voters’s cards ahead of the June 21 governorship election.

In a statement by its media and publicity secretary, Mr Bolanle Olatunde-Bruce, the party said, “We have it on good authority that the Ekiti APC is buying off voters’ cards preparatory to rig the  gubernatorial elections coming up on Saturday, June 21, 2014.”
It urged the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and law enforcement agencies to investigate the matter.
