TOYOTA Nigeria Ltd, TNL, has added the automatic transmission version of the Toyota Hiace to its lineup with the aim of capturing more share in the highly competitive mini-bus vehicle market segment in Nigeria.
The automatic version of the Hiace is mated to the Toyota Hiace 2.7 litre petrol engine which is referred to in the mini-bus vehicle segment as a workhorse.
The 2.7 litre dual overhead camshaft multi-valve petrol engine of the Hiace delivers 111kw of power at 4800 rpm and 241 Nm of Torque at 3800 rpm.
The Hiace comes in three versions, including the high roof, medium and standard roof.
Unarguably, the most copied vehicle in the automobile world, the Hiace has dominated its segment in the last decade with its solid design and overall performance.
According to a Toyota Nigeria source, the introduction of the automatic version of the Hiace is another way of raising the bar in the segment as well as offering their customer more varieties to chose from.
The Toyota Hiace has remained a pacesetter in its class since its launch in the international market in 1967. Now in its fifth generation, the Hiace has improved in terms of power, fuel efficiency, space and safety to the envy of competing brands.
Standard air-conditioning system, anti-lock brake system, wide-body and high comfort seat are hallmarks of the Hiace.
