BY OLASUNKANMI AKONI

Ikeja—The Lagos State Government yesterday, advised residents to maintain personal and environmental hygiene, to prevent the outbreak of Ebola virus in the state.
Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris, gave the advice in a statement in Lagos.

He said: “The Government of Lagos State, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health, is putting measures in place to prevent its entry and spread in the country.
“These measures include sensitisation of health workers, active search for cases of the disease and continuous sensitisation of the public.”

Idris said this had become necessary following the reported outbreak of the disease in some neighbouring West African countries like Guinea and Liberia.
