Asaba — SPEAKER of Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Peter Onwusanya, yesterday, described his recent elevation to the office of Speaker as a miracle which he was yet to comprehend.
Speaking in Asaba while receiving the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Chike Ogeah, who was on a courtesy visit, the Speaker thanked the commissioner for the visit and said “as far as I am concerned, it is a miracle.
“I have not been able to comprehend, but I give glory to God. This comes with added challenge and responsibility. It, therefore, means that to keep the flag flying, the Fifth Assembly has to succeed and it is left for us to add other values to the successes we have already registered in the Assembly over time.
“I cannot, as a person, do it alone. It is a collective contribution, efforts by all my fellow members in this Assembly. The same thing goes with the executive arm because no one has the monopoly of knowledge.”
Earlier, Mr Ogeah, who visited with a retinue of media practitioners, told the Speaker that he was at the Assembly complex to congratulate him on his emergence as the Speaker and offered to give adequate publicity to the activities of the House through the media.
