LAGOS—Three scavengers were, Monday, arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing 141 pieces of old analogue meters from the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN’s store.

The defendants, Ibrahim Yakubu, 23; Adegbola Adesanya, 42 and Kabiru Abdulahi, 38, are facing a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Edet Okoi, told the court that the defendants conspired with others at large to commit the alleged offence on April 2.

Magistrate Margaret Dan Oni granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with two responsible sureties in like sum and adjourned the matter to April 24.
