Gusau — The Zamfara State Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has endorsed a retired civil servant, Alhaji Sagir Hamid, as its  governorship candidate for the 2015 election in the state.
This was made known by Chairman of the Care-Taker Committee, Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu, while speaking in an interview with Vanguard in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.

Adamu spoke shortly after flagging off a three-month skill acquisition programme for 100 youths sponsored by the governorship aspirant.
The youths would undergo the training which was a joint programme between the Sagir Foundation and the PDP in Kano State.

According to Adamu, Hamid’s programme for the youths was in line with the party’s aim of youth empowerment, hence the need to recognise him as the best man that could bring the desired change, especially in the area youth development in the state.

Adamu expressed optimism that Hamid, if elected, would continue with the good works he had started, and asked all the party’s political office holders to emulate the good example.
He said: ”The PDP wants people of his kind who have the people and the state at heart and whose intention is to, among other things, the needed change and an end to idleness on the part of youths who now roam the streets.”
