The Urhobo nation has been called upon to prepare for the 2015 general elections, described as crucial to the wellbeing of the people.
Assistant National Publicity Secretary of Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Alhaji Mumakai Unagha, in a chat with newsmen in Abuja, yesterday, said: “Urhobo nation, the 5th largest ethnic group in Nigeria, is currently going through challenges which need surgical operation in 2015.
“The people are passing through serious trauma in the hands of the Federal Government despite their overwhelming support for President Goodluck Jonathan.” He pointed out that the mistakes of the past will not be repeated.
Unagha said that the Urhobo will demonstrate their numerical strength come 2015 general elections, not minding whose ox is gored.
He regretted that the Urhobo were like a conquered people in their home, which he said was intolerable, accusing the Federal Government of exhibiting a ‘winner takes it all syndrome’ in its administration.
