ABUJA — A member of the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda, on Wednesday, condemned last week’s abduction of an radio broadcaster, Anthony Atakakpo, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Atakakpo, known mostly by his fans as Akas Baba, was reportedly kidnapped on Thursday, March 13, by unknown gunmen.
Chinda, PDP, Rivers, in a statement, said the ace broadcaster’s kidnap came to him as a rude shock, saying the incident “has clearly left Mr. Akas’ family, friends, colleagues, associates, fans and several well-meaning Nigerians in great trauma.”
He called on “the Nigeria Police and other relevant security operatives in Rivers State to do everything possible to quickly secure unconditional release of the broadcaster from the kidnappers’ den.
”I hereby, for myself, my family and the people of Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency, Rivers State, join several well-meaning individuals to unconditionally condemn the sad, unconscionable, inhuman and devilish act.”
