Abuja — Abuja chapter of  Federal Government College Ugwolawo Kogi Old Student Association, has condemned the attack and recent killing of innocent students at Federal Government College, Buni Yadi, in Yobe State, by members of the Boko Haram sect.

The association, which stated this at its monthly meeting in Abuja, said the wanton killing of innocent children not only demonstrated an act of wickedness, but also sacrilegious for the insurgents to attack school children in the depth of the night.

In a statement by the National President Lawrence Willbart, the association noted that this development would have a negative effect on human development.
According to the group, the development will affect the education of school children.
It, therefore, called on the Federal Government not only to provide tight security in such schools across the country, but also probe the killing and bring the culprits to book.

It prayed God to grant the parents, guardians and school authorities the fortitude to bear the wanton loss.
At least 29 students of  Federal Government College, Boni Yadi, Yobe State, were killed by Boko Haram insurgents on February 25.

The attackers stormed the school on February 25, set a locked dormitory on fire and when the terrified students tried escaping through the windows, the insurgents began shooting them.
The killers also slit the throats of some unfortunate students in the raging inferno, while many students were burnt to ashes.
