Lagos — A Lagos High Court, sitting at Igbosere, has fixed  April 11, 2014, for ruling on the case of Alhaji Ishola Salaudeen, who defrauded over 100 prospective tenants of N30 million.

The ruling, which was earlier scheduled for March 28, 2014, could not go on as  Justice Candide Johnson adjourned the case to a new date, to enable him study the file before giving his ruling on the new date.

Meanwhile the defendant’s counsel, Mohammed Adamu, filed an application before the court, saying he had earlier informed the court at the last adjourned date  that the matter would be resolved amicably among the parties involved in the matter.

Adamu, in his application, said he was at the Ikeja High Court before Justice Akapo Lawal,to get the correct documents from the defendant  who was brought from prison

However,defendant’s counsel who apologised for his inability to get all the necessary documents before the judge due to the incarceration of the defendant, said they were now at the defendant’s residence searching all necessary documents for purposes of reconciliation, in compliance with the court’s directive before the date of ruling.

At the last sitting, the complainants’ counsel, O. Ojo, had told the court that the defendant was not serious about settling the claimants.
He had also said that, the defendant’s counsel had told the court to give him time to prepare for the case which was granted.

Ojo had said that they had filed application for summary judgment before the court on November 6, 2013, and that the court was aware of the case.
Justice Johnson adjourned the case for ruling on the application for summary judgment, since the defence counsel was not in court and did not get any notice for his absence.
