Lagos — The International Press Centre, IPC, and World Association for Christian Communication, WACC, have flayed the seven per cent accorded reportage of rural poverty issues, which they described as abysmally low.
Speaking at a workshop for media practitioners in Lagos, Professor Abigail Ogwezzy-Ndisika of WACC, urged media organisations across the country to pay more attention to poverty issues to help reduce the phenomenon.
Ogwezzy-Ndisika, who is also of the Department of Mass Communication,University of Lagos, made a presentation on “A Report of one-month survey of six newspapers reportage of rural poverty issues in Nigeria.”
