BENIN—GOVERNOR Ad-ams Oshiomhole of Edo State has told the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state to forget about winning the state in 2016, saying that Edo State was not “a goat that must be captured.”

The governor, who was reacting to the boast by the PDP in the state that the party would “capture” the state after his tenure in 2016, said: “When I hear the PDP say that after Oshiomhole, they will capture Edo back, I ask, ‘is Edo a goat that must be captured?’ In 2007, PDP stole the peoples’ mandate. I battled with them with your support and by the grace of God, the mandate was restored.”

He spoke in  Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area of the state, where the member representing the area in the state House of Assembly, Mr Victor Edoror, dumped PDP for the All Progressives Congress, APC,
