THE Family and community members of the slain President of the Niger Delta Youth Movement, NDYM, in Warri South Local Government Area, Comrade Ajulisan Akumagba, have called on the Delta State Government and security agencies to fish out the killers of the deceased.
It was gathered that Akumagba was murdered in cold blood by yet-to-be-identified assailants at the notorious Morogun junction, behind Essi College, Iyara in Warri at about 8 pm on Sunday the March 2, 2014.
According to the community spokesman, Mr. Billy Ekele, Akumagba was waylaid at the junction close to his house at around 8 pm and brutally stabbed in the heart after which he bled to death. He added that immediately the assailant discovered that their victim was dead, they escaped through Essi College which had been a notorious hide out for criminals.
Ekele, who described late Akumagba as a very vibrant, promising, resourceful and hard-working young man, said his death has left the family devastated, disorganized and in disarray as he was their bread winner.
He further said since the death of Akumagba, the family members and the community had been left empty as he represented a key factor in the community. He said the family is yet to know the motive for the killing, stating that they have left everything in the hands of security agencies and the state government.
Continuing, Ekele called on the state government to come to the rescue of the community, adding that the dilapidated structures and unkempt nature of the Essi college is constituting a security risk to residents of the area. In addition, he recounted that the death of Akumagba, is the fourth in the series of the brutal killings in the area in the last one year.
