Don’t sleep after pounded yam, Osoba warns

Olusegun Osoba

By HENRY UMORU & JOSEPH ERUNKE

The reporter in the former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Segun Osoba, surfaced on Monday when he pleaded for the closing time of the conference to be adjusted to 5 p.m. instead of the scheduled 6 p.m.
Among his reasons for seeking an amendment was to enable journalists to file their reports.

The politician in the former governor was also evident in his submission as he said that closing earlier would also enable delegates to have caucuses, lobby, negotiate and engage in horse trading.
He, however, expressed fear that members may be forced to come back and sleep after launch.

He was supported by the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah who in supporting Osoba expressed fears that from experience, the hall will be empty after lunch.
“In seconding the motion and based on past experience, after break, the hall will be empty. Mr. Chairman sir, “your afternoon session will be totally empty.”

Disagreeing with the positions of Osoba and Attah, former minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Senator Adamu Aliero who called for sacrifice, said that there was enough time for break and the conference was a serious business that must be taken very seriously.
