Gov. Suntai recently hosted former Gov. Nyame on his birthday and you were there, willyou say he is getting better?

Gov. Suntai is very sound and alert to function as governor and people who have interacted with him of recent have confirmed this. However,  there is confusion put in place  by Senator Hope Uzodinma  and Taraba State House of Assembly which have left the people in great  state of confusion and the attitude of the Deputy Governor have not helped  matters because he has demonstrated a very embarrassing sense of disloyalty  and quest to grab power by all means and have compounded  it  because if he has known  that Gov. Suntai has invited him to help him stir the affairs of the state in an election he did not participate in,  he would  simply have said, ‘well for whatever I do, I do it with the consent of my  Governor even if he is not strong enough’.

He would have been consulting with his principal despite the act of illegality of  Senator. Hope Uzodinma  Committee. There was  need for the deputy governor to be consulting with Governor Suntai despite illegality  of their visit to Taraba.  But as I speak,  this has not happened.

The Deputy Governor has been  been carried away by the opinion of some sycophants around him  who are bent  on reaping on the political crisis that is going on and this is quite unfortunate.  He doesn’t  know the antecedents of the people he is being surrounded with but time will tell and by  the grace of God,  very soon,  the grains will be separated from the chaff

Judging by what you said, Gov Suntai is sound and fit to continue in his responsibilities as governor, what is  delaying him if  the people of  Taraba are eager  to see him back in the  number one position?

Any foundation that is built on injustice and falsehood cannot stand the test of time. The people in the state are of the  opinion  that Gov. Suntai should return to work and  take his position, but  like I have earlier pointed out ,  the State House of Assembly which the Deputy Governor has  pocketed  by spending huge resources on them so that they can do his bidding which they have been doing but we are trusting God that this same people will repent and go back to God so as to avoid the judgment of God.  Like I have early said, no falsehood is  bound to stand the test of time.  If the House of Assembly chooses  to reverse its illegal position,   it will be  better for them  and for the people of Taraba state.

So what is the position of things now?

It is in the appeal court. The appeal court is to interpret the section of the constitution that  provides that  the  Governor should resume work on return from medical treatment;   whether the House has the power to stop him from resuming.  However the House of Assembly still stands a chance to revisit  and reverse its decision and save  both parties from going through the process of litigation.

If the House of Assembly chooses  that,  it will  save itself  from the danger of God’s judgment and that will appear like a restitution but if they refuse ,  we will watch and see what will happen. We believe  that God is interested in this matter. I will not advice anybody to play or toy around with the destiny of such person.

I have come a long way politically and found myself in the fore front of the politics of the state since 1992.  I aspired to be the local government chairman when Taraba State was created.  I have been in the State House of Assembly.  I have been a commissioner.  I have been in the House of Representatives and now I’m a senator.

I can say with  authority and  from the  position of knowledge that Governor Suntai emerged  in Taraba state through divine intervention . It was  not by monetary capacity or wealth.  Jolly Nyame gave power to Danladi Baido and all the dignitaries that were there but God said no. So all these  things are just being  said by the political jobbers who are surrounding the Deputy Governor who is in a desperate move to take away power from somebody who mean well for him.

I recall you were once a member of the State House of Assembly;  how would this constitutional matter have been handled at your time ?

Yes I was in the State Assembly and I cannot remember at any point we were  disobeying the orders of  court of constituted authority with impunity.  This never happened in my days and I think  what is happening is part of a plot to subvert the mandate that brought Suntai to power and this is being orchestrated by some elements who want to draft Taraba state into anarchy,  otherwise, I don’t understand  the  House of  Assembly  headed by a Speaker who said  he  never saw the court order that banned them from screening commissioners.

He said that they  brought the order when they have finished the screening and yet, they went ahead to screen two other commissioners. Do not forget that all these screening of commissioners are illegal processes.  They are acts  that are not supported by law because  any activity carried out by Umar since the return of  Danbaba as far as the law of the land is concern is illegal and this will count against him. He should be  prepared  to face the law at any time he leaves.

I feel for him as an elderly person.  The challenges that will follow after this are enough to weigh him down . So,  he should be careful and if he is surrounded by people who are self serving because of the little money they get from him, they will regret it.

I don’t know if you have been able to confront Hope Uzodima with your facts to let him know what he has done?

First and foremost, I confronted Hope Uzodinma myself  with two other senators in our chamber.  We asked  him if what he did is constitutional and  he said  one has to keep the constitution aside  if you want to do some of these things. What a shame for this to be coming from a serving  Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Apart from this, the day Bamanga Tukur visited the PDP caucus in the National Assembly, I raised this matter and asked Hope Uzodinma why he asked the Deputy Governor to continue as Acting Governor and should  consult with the Governor  on key issues. He told me that he did not say so and I believe if the whole of Tarabans should read this, they would know if I’m lying or Hope Uzodinma because he said these things here in the state before the media that the Deputy Governor should be consulting the Governor but when Bamanga Tukur visited,  he denied saying that.  So, you can see what is happening; the mystery of  iniquity in the period we are living in is purely worrisome and disturbing  and again, it is not surprising if you know what the scripture is saying about the time we are in.

We know you as a friend to Governor Suntai and when he returned to Nigeria from treatment,  you showed total loyalty of your friendship but all of a sudden, instead of watching on how he is responding on his ill health, we saw your posters on the streets  of Jalingo  for 2015.  What have you to say about this ?

I refuted the fact that the posters were pasted by me.  Remember that I am a politician. I have followers but I suspect two sources. First,  it could be from mischief makers who  want to incite the public against my person. Secondly, they could be from my well wishers who are getting bored with the Deputy Governor’s  excesses.
