IBADAN —The Academic Staff Union of Universities, yesterday, in Ibadan, clarified that all public universities across the country, including state owned would benefit from the N220billion intervention fund released by the Federal Government.
The clarification was made by the Chairman of ASUU, University of Ibadan Chapter, Dr. Olusegun Ajiboye when speaking with newsmen in Ibadan.
According to him, the 2009 agreement was not restricted to the federal universities alone.
He explained that it would not be proper to say that the intervention fund was meant for the federal universities.
The struggle for the implementation of the 2009 agreement to develop infrastructure facilities in the universities was jointly done and the fund would be used by all.
Ajiboye stated that full academic activities had resumed since the Federal Government had granted their demands by signing the memorandum of understanding.
