UGHELLI—FORMER  member of Delta State House of Assembly representing Ughelli North constituency II, Mr. Abel Oshevire, yesterday, said that the awards conferred on Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan by Vanguard Newspapers and three other newspaper houses as the Man of the Year 2013, were eloquent testimonies of his outstanding performance in Delta State.

Oshevire, in a statement, said: “It is remarkable that prior to the Vanguard Newspaper award, three other media houses, namely the Sun, Leadership and the Nigerian Pilot had conferred same award on him.

“This accomplishment by Governor Uduaghan is unparalled in the history of governance in Nigeria where one governor, in a particular year, gets honoured by four media houses as their Man of the Year. This is, no doubt, a rare feat and it reflects the giant stride the governor had recorded in the state over the years.

“Governor Uduaghan’s sterling performance and great works are manifest in the various sectors of the economy. The government’s micro-credit programme is outstanding and has made very much impact on the state’s economy, providing employment to hundreds of thousands of men, women, boys and girls in the state.”
