LG believes that humans are complex machines. Hence technology must be more complex to suit human needs. It however, noted that more complexity also means more consumer confusion. As a leader in Smart TVs, the device maker said that it is uniquely positioned to deliver to consumers the advanced user experience without the complexity. The gauntlet is set – create a simplified, intuitive system that does away with the overly complicated, sometimes awkward Smart TV platforms that have frustrated many users in the past. Below are some factors that LG will look to introduce with its next Smart TV OS.

Simple and Scalable:

The new platform’s single biggest advantage will be the ability to simplify the Smart TV experience. Better ease-of-use will make content searching and viewing, connecting with other devices, and make even the initial setup process smoother and more accessible.

Intuitive Access and Easy Content Control:

The introduction of a new intuitive UX will also make the most of pre-existing ‘natural’ control mechanism already present in Smart TV. By combining with more ‘human’ user interfaces such as gesture and voice control already present in the ‘Magic Remote’, scrollable menus may open additional doors for users, allowing viewers to simultaneously watch a show, play a game or browse the internet while searching for or downloading other content.

Simplified Content Discovery:

Consumers may also benefit from one-stop content recommendation services, suggesting popular TV shows, catch-up TV and movies, allowing for more exciting viewing options via a simplified user interface.
