…As IG distributes food items to families of slain  policemen in Bauchi

Bauchi—The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, yesterday, donated food items to widows and children of slain Police officers who were killed by Boko Haram in 20 local government areas of Bauchi State to enable them celebrate the New Year .

The items include one cow, 30 sacks of rice and 10 cartons of vegetable oil.

State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ladan, announced while distributing the food items in Bauchi .

According to him, “the officers who were killed will always remain heroes because they were killed while serving their fathers land and in the line of duty.

“The Police will continue to figth terrorism in the state and other criminals activities to bring them to book.”
He advised residents of the state to cooperate with security operatives and help them with useful information that will lead to the arrest of criminals.

He said: “The killing of our men will not deter us from performing our duties of protection of lives and property. I want to further urge the police to redouble their efforts in riding the society of criminals”.

Distribution the items on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, the Commissioner of Police in charge of Police Welfare in Force Headquarters Abuja, Yakubu Usman urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items and said that the police will continue to render them with assistance whenever the need arises.
