After a long wait, months of intrigues and dire expectations the game has finally come home to rest. From the long walk, beginning with 25 men and women, some seven months ago the lots now rest with 5 men and 5 women who have weathered the storm of uncertainties, twists and turns occasioned by sensibility of the game.
The five men (in no particular order) are Odunlade Adekola, Benson Okonkwo, Yul Edochie, Uti Nwachukwu and Ali Nuhu.
The five women include Stephanie Okereke, Ebube Nwagbo, Cynthia Agholor, Tonto Dikeh and Colette Orji. This means the duo of Ramsey Nouah and Queeneth Hilbert are the last contestants to bow out of the game.
However, since the countdown has ended with emergence of five finalists, the last 5 finalists are hereby declared as the final nominees for the crown of the Sexiest Man and Sexiest Woman in Nollywood 2013.
Women
Colette Orji: Colette didn’t really have anything going for her at the beginning, she was barely hanging among the top ten. There was a time she seemed to have found the 10th position her abode and she stayed there for a long time. She didn’t move up until the countdown got to last 10 when she miraculously moved up to 8th.
From then she moved to 6th and then 5th and back to 6th again where she closed her act for the time being. Making the final five is a bit of a surprise
Cynthia Agholor: She was also one of the unknowns at the beginning of the game. At a point she was between 10th and 15th place. But Cynthia only found her rhythm as the game progressed.
Many a time she was placed in the drop zone but as many times as she found herself staring at the exit door she always found her way back in. Closing at 5th place is the best she has got but the question is whether she can go all the way to claim the crown.
Ebube Nwagbo: She didn’t start like a person who could make things happen in the game but she has kept with the tide and have found herself among the top contenders for the crown.
She has stayed in the first, second and third positions in the game. Her last call was in the third spot where it was said she was having a good view of the first two people
Stephanie Okereke: She never wandered out of the first three. In fact she stayed on the second spot more than anyone in the game.
From the beginning, she looked like a strong contender and before the last call she showed what she could do by toppling Tonto from the first spot and she did it not once but twice.
Well, it looked like the controversial actress was going to have an easy ride until towards the tail end when competition from Stephanie and Ebube got too strong. The duo had the pleasure of toppling her at different occasions. She stayed at the first spot for almost the whole duration of the game but she has closed at second place. Will she regain the first spot?
Men
Ali Nuhu: Ali has a traumatic run but a good one at that. He has moved from one place to the other just as temperament of the game dictates.
He closes at sixth and thus look like the legitimate man to bow out next but haven’t we seen enough magic from this guy to just write him off?
: Benson has been the sneakiest player in this game; sneaking up on his quarry and pouncing on to take them out like they were never there.
He started slow and moved up fast to stake a claim to the game at second place. He was 5th, 4th, 3rd and now 2nd.
Odunlade Adekola: Odunlade’s story runs very much like that of Ali’s, traumatic yet triumphant. He is the only surviving Yoruba actor but he is giving a good account of himself.
He closes at 5th but whether he is fit to remain is a question time will answer.
Uti Nwachukwu: If Benson has been sneaky Uti must have been something of a trickster, going behind people and surprising them with a sucker punch they never recover from.
He did it to about two or three people and has been lurking behind Benson for a couple of weeks now.
Yul Edochie: If there is ever a guy who could take honour out of winning something then Yul is it. He has been at the first spot right from the beginning and hasn’t look like he would allow anyone to have a peak at him.
Though Benson and Uti are up to something but will Yul go down that easy? Your guess is as good as mine
