SSUCOEN rejects AGF’s proposed implementation of IPPIS for members

THE Senior Staff Union in Colleges of Education, Nigeria, SSUCOEN, has declared that it has rejected the proposed implementation of the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System, IPPIS, believed to have been put in place by the Accountant General of the Federation, AGF, for members of the Union.

In a communiqué issued and signed by the National President and Secretary of SSUCOEN, Comrade Muhammed Sani Uwaisu and Ajayi Oluwole, respectively, at the end of the 17th National Delegates Conference of the Union held at the Ebonyi State College of Education, Ikwo, the Union further charged the Minister of Education to reject the proposal in the interest of industrial peace and harmony.

The Union leaders who stressed that SSUCOEN would remain committed to the welfare of its members called on relevant authorities in the education sector in the country to partner the Union towards uplifting the sector.

The Communiqué read in part: “The Union insists on rejecting in totality the proposed implementation of the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System, IPPIS by the office of the Accountant General of the Federation and calls on the Minister of Education to reject such proposal on behalf of our colleagues with immediate effect in the interest of industrial peace and harmony.

“The Union calls on the Governing Councils of state-owned colleges that are yet to implement the 65 years retirement age of members to, as a matter of urgency, do so without further delay.

“The Union calls on the Chief Executives of the Nigeria Insurance Commission, Insurance  and Brokers Companies for our colleagues, Head of Service of the Federation and the Ministry of Education to make full payment of premium of death claims to our deceased members “

The Union reiterates its position on the full implementation of the

consolidation of the salaries of Registrars and Bursars, and the immediate implementation of CONTENDISS 15 15 for Deputy Registrar, Deputy Bursar and others.”
