Eaglets
President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC, Engineer Sani M. Ndanusa yesterday hailed the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria after they added Sweden to their list of casualties in the on-going FIFA U-17 World Cup and romped into the final.
The Eaglets dismissed their Scandinavian counterparts 3-0 ready to play Mexico in the final on Friday.
“These boys are jewels. They have brought joy to all Nigerians and we are indeed grateful’’, Ndanusa said moments after the game.
Ndanusa, former Sports Minister and President of Nigerian Tennis Federation, however, cautioned the Eaglets not to relent in bringing the cup back home to President Goodluck Jonathan.
“Soar on like Eagles and bring the cup to our sports-loving President, Dr Ebele Goodluck Jonathan and the teeming Nigerians who have been praying for your success. Mexico will want a revenge but we believe in your abilities to beat them again to prove that the first 6-1 defeat on them was no fluke. Go, Eaglets go”, a jubilant Ndanusa sang.
