Moses demands more Liverpool action

Victor Moses

Super Eagles midfielder Victor Moses says he is looking to get more game time at Liverpool after falling off the Reds’ starting eleven.

The 22-year-old started six games to the Merseyside club after completing his loan switch from Chelsea, but has had to come off the bench in his last few appearances.

“The main thing is to be on the pitch and enjoy football. That has always been on my mind – to play games,” he told Liverpool Echo.

“There was only a little spell at Wigan when I first signed there and I wasn’t in the team every week.

“I’ve always gone to places for the football, places where I’m going to play. By playing, you learn. It might seem I’ve been around for a long time but I’m still only 22.

“I think I can develop a lot more but I realise to achieve that I’ve got to play as much as possible.”

Moses played in a more central role against boyhood club CrystalPalace but has often been used wide on the left and he says he doesn’t mind playing in either position.

“When you’re in the middle the ball comes to you more often – but usually there are more players around to stop you,” he added.

“On the wing sometimes you can drift in and out of the game depending on how things are going.

“But you have more space so when the ball does come, you have a better chance of causing problems.

“At the end of the day you have to find a way to influence the game wherever you are playing.
