Gombe, the GombeState capital will be abuzz with activities as stakeholders in sports gather for the Annual General Meeting of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, tomorrow.
Sports-loving Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo would play host to the sports federations Presidents and invited guests who would gather at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Gombe, GombeState
Sports Minister and Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi would be the Special Guest of Honour while the Director General of the NSC, Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye would be the Special Guest.
President of the NOC, Engineer Sani M. Ndanusa said yesterday that all was set for the AGM as the federation Presidents deliberate on ways to make Team Nigeria a success at the forth-coming Glasgow Commonwealth Games in Scotland.
One of the issues on the front burner would be a presentation on anti-doping as Nigeria reiterates its zero tolerance on doping at any level of sports.Other issues include President’s report for 2012 and a paper tagged from grassroot to podium among others.
‘’The Governor is indeed delighted to be hosting the who is who in Nigerian sports and I think that we will come out with a position paper after the AGM’’, Engineer Ndanusa who is also the President of Nigeria Tennis Federation said.
