Asaba — FORMER Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Professor Patrick Muoboghare, said in Asaba, Delta State, yesterday, that the defection of G7 governors to  All Progressives Congress,  APC, does not pose any threat to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Rather, he said, the affected governors, including the lawmakers, are faced with serious consequences.

Muoboghare, now Delta State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education and a staunch member of PDP, said: “There is no threat. They are finished. Now, tell me who they will carry along. Any House of Representatives member who goes with them will lose his seat. That is very clear. You cannot be fielded by PDP and then you jump to another party.

“Like somebody said, have they really left PDP? Don’t they know how to leave the party? Is it by announcement on television and radio, drinking beer and pepper soup in one man’s house, you now say you have left the party? They know what to do. You formally write to your party, stating that you have resigned from the party. So, the way it is now, if they register with APC that is double registration. It disqualifies them straight away from contesting any position in Nigeria.”
