The Super Eagles have defeated Ethiopia 2-1 in the 2014 World Cup playoffs match in Addis Ababa.
The African champions came back from a goal deficit to give themselves a strong to qualify for the World Cup finals in Brazil.
Ethiopia’s Asafa scored the first goal for his country, but a brace from Emmanuel Emenike in the 2nd half, the second a penalty, ensured that the Nigerians left Addis Ababa with all three points.
The return leg holds November 16 in Calabar.
