Delta State Chairman of Democratic Peoples’ Party, DPP, Mr. Tony Ezeagwu, has said that neither the leadership of the party nor Chief Great Ogboru, governorship candidate of the party, had endorsed any aspirant for the forthcoming Delta Central senatorial bye-election, describing the rumour as unfounded.
Ezeagwu, during a tour of the party’s local government secretariats in Delta Central, said that the party was waxing stronger, adding that those that left the party were not there at the formation stage and that their exit would not affect party negatively.
He said that he was impressed by the huge turnout of party members during the inspection of the Okpe party secretariat, assuring members that Ogboru has no plan to cross to any political party as speculated.
He urged them to disregard such information and work for the progress of the party.
Chairmanship aspirant of DPP, Blessing Oborevwori, commended Ezeagwu and Chief Ogboru’s steadfastness, saying that the high turnout of party members was a conviction that the party was very much on ground.
