NACOMYO warns youths against indecent dressing

Alhaji Kamal’din Akintunde, the National President, National Council for Muslim Youths Organisation (NACOMYO),  recently warned youths in the country against indecent dressing.

Akintunde told newsmen in Abeokuta that indecent dressing attracts negative  reactions and delays divine response to requests and prayers.

He also said  indecent dressing  was a negation of  societal values and norms, adding that it should be discouraged.

Akintunde  further said that indecent dressing contravenes  the teachings  of  many religions,  including Islam and Christianity.

He, however, condemned  some religious bodies and parents for tolerating and accepting indecent dressing among  youths.

“The fact is that the  perpetrators of this attitude are being influenced by modernity,  and thus lose religious sensibility.

“As a panacea, I want to suggest that the current war against nudity,  especially among our youths,  should be enforced,” he said.

He advised  youths  to imbibe good morals and engage in useful ventures  that would benefit them and the country.

Akintunde  also urged government  at all levels  to partner with religious bodies  in order to promote good morals.
