School floats multimillion naira facilities to improve academic delivery

Dedicated to maintaining a policy of continuous investment in teaching and learning, human capital , infrastructure and environmental development, St. Saviour’s School, Ebute-Metta, recently commissioned a state-of-the-art building to punctuate her dedication to a standard educational venture.

The Diamond Jubilee Building, which was commissioned alongside a borehole and water treatment plant, has been described by those who graced the event as record-making in the history of primary education in Nigeria.

Some of the guests include Chairman, Board of Trustees, Mr. Nnamdi Mbanefo (SAN), the Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye and the Director of Admin and Human Resources, Nigerian Railway Corporation, Mr. Aminu Guso.

The Chair, Board of Management (BoM), Mr. Tom Ogboi, in his address, noted that apart from the fact that the school is cautiously walking the path of the founding fathers in the last 63 years, which was to provide the foundation for a well-rounded educational training, developing the total man and character formation for leaders of tomorrow in every endeavour of life said, “We are proud to say that we have kept the vision of the founding fathers of the two schools and have actually expanded the scope in terms of teaching and learning delivery systems and technology, which were not envisaged at the conceptual stages.”

“The Diamond Jubilee Building is a modern world class educational facility with eight modern classrooms powered with ICT systems, interactive white boards, maximum air-conditioned circulation spaces, well lit and served with fire detective/alarm system, audio evacuation, PAS and portable fire fighting appliances, library facilities, resource centers, language laboratories, office accommodation and a total of 20 toilet facilities, across the floors.”

The Chairman, Building Committee, BoM, Mr. Austin Onaro, who gave an insight into the roughly N200m project,  added that, “The Board of Management also took the opportunity to install a borehole to supplement low mains supply in the Railway Compound in which the school is situated and serve the school’s neighbours.”

Mrs Oladunjoye congratulated the school for supporting the state government in the education sector.
