LOKOJA —The General Manager, Kogi Investment and Properties Limited, KIPL, Alhaji. Moses Ado Okino has said that Nigerians needed about 17 million houses to address the issue of accommodation in the country.
Okino spoke when the Kogi State government signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with the Rich Field Group to construct over 10,000 houses on owner occupier basis for the people of the state in Lokoja, the state capital.
The General Manager signed the MoU, on behalf of the state governor, Captain Idris Wada, rtd.
He however, said that government alone would not address the issue of housing for all Nigerians as the it required the intervention of private sector to bridge the gap.
Okino described the intervention of the Rich Field group in the housing problem as timely adding that it would enable the government to address the issue in the state.
