Lagos registers 13,116 job seekers

LAGOS — NO fewer than 13,116 job seekers have been registered in the Lagos State’s online data bank, the state government has disclosed.

The data bank was designed to capture the details of unemployed residents in the state and their area of interest of employment for eventual placement.

Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Wale Ahmed, spoke, yesterday, at the annual briefing of the Ministry of Special Duties, in commemoration of the sixth year administration of Governor Babatunde Fashola.

He explained that the government also used the portal as a platform of interaction for job seekers and employers of labour.

Ahmed said: “The objective is to provide opportunities for employers to have direct access with job applicants for the purpose of recruitment. A level of success has been recorded so far with 26 job placements.”
