ABEOKUTA — Chairman, Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, Sulaiman Adebayo, has raised an alarm over incessant attacks on some villages in the local government by unidentified people from neighbouring Oyo State.
The council boss, who spoke during a courtesy visit by the state Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Aboluwoye Ebenezer, to his local government, yesterday, disclosed that the council had just got a court verdict ceding some villages from Oyo State to Odeda Local Government.
Vanguard checks revealed that there had been controversies over some portions of land in Bakatari, a border area between Ogun and Oyo states, which was resolved in favour of Ogun State.
Adebayo said: “Some of the villagers are threatened by the people from Oyo State. Our people are being molested, threatened and even lost property. I want the security agencies to take necessary steps towards resolving that.”
