One of the chapters and verses of the Holy Qur’an that are recommended for seeking protection in Islam is Suratul Baqarah (Chapter 2 verses 1-286). Although, a Muslim that posses Aqiidatu sahihah (Sound faith, doctrine, or believe) can used any part of the Qur’an to seek protection from all evil occurrences.
However, the whole of Baqarah is specifically recommended. This is part of the Sunnah and Muslims are enjoined to adhere to it all the time.
Therefore, Suratul Baqarah can be used to seek protection from all evil in the following manner:
To recite the full text of Suratul Baqarah in the house within three days. On these, the Prophet was reported to have said that: Shaytan surely flees from a house in which it is read.
All the evil doers among the spirits, human beings and animal are agents of Shaytan. Therefore, if shaytan is conquered definitely all his agents will be conquered.
It is recommended to recite Ayatul Qur’siy in this manner: one after each of the obligatory salat; morning and evening as azkar; bed time; when one is riding in a vehicle or any means of transportation; when experiencing any type of fear; for relieve from evil attack of man jinn etc. The Prophet (SAW) said: If Ayatul Qur’siy is recited; the person will be protected from the evil of shaytan as contained in Hadith Sahih Bukahri 6/530.
The last ten verses from the chapter and the last two verses of chapter. USES: These verses are to be recited every night etc. The prophet (SAW) is reported to have said concerning these verses that whosoever recites it at night it will be sufficient for him. (Sahih Al-Bukhari 5/345) That is, to safe guard him from shaytan and from every evil thing (Shaykh Balli: Wiqayatul insaan min Jinn Was- Shaytan p.200 etc).
Borno to sponsor 10 Muslims abroad
The Borno state government is to sponsor all state representatives in the just concluded 2013 Quranic Recitation Competition held in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara state to study in various disciplines in Islamic university in Egypt and Saudi Arabia .
Receiving the contigents at the Government House Maiduguri, Governor Kashim Shetima said that their performance at the Quranic competition was not surprising, as the state is not only centre of Islamic Knowledge but a gate way to Islamic education.
The governor stated that he will personally secure them an admission in Al Azhar University Egypt and University of Medina so that they further their education in various discipline of Islamic knowledge.
Presenting a Golf Car to the only two out of the 10 contingent that represented the state but have not won a car, the governor said they are all winners and have done the state proud, urging them to keep the flag flying and that his government is always ready to assist the council of Quranic recitation competition.
