Minister of State for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, Sunday, berated the principal of the Federal Government College, Kwali, over e-library project which the school sited miles from students’ classrooms and hostels.
The minister who was on a tour of facilities of on-going projects in Federal Government Colleges, within the FCT, said he could not understand the rationale behind siting two libraries in a school while some schools are still struggling to have one.
Wike also reprimanded the principal, Mrs. Celestina Omokhede for not officially informing the ministry of its on-going library project, adding that she misled the government into investing funds in e-library in the same school.
Wike learnt that the school management has in the last four years (2009) been pumping a minimum of N8 million each year into the school library yet the library was far from being completed.
