AMVCA 2013: What Stars wore to the awards night

AMVCA 2013: What Stars wore to the awards night

The awards ceremonies all over the world  are always a good time for celebrities to sport some serious blingage, and the just concluded maiden edition of  Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards was  no exception.

Last Sunday, the stars showed off their best jewels and designers’ outfits  on the red carpet. From Genevieve Nnaji to Jim Iyke, Desmond Elliot to Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, it was a celebration of beauty,  colour and style. Virtually, all the attendees, including captains of industry, government officials, entertainers from across Africa made strong statements in their different outfits.

But the night belonged to Nollywood stars who added glamour and class to the night. While the A-list actresses did everything to outshine their male colleagues on the red carpet, the latter proved unbeatable, matching their strength with their gorgeous outlooks.

To some attendees, one name ruled the night and it was Genevieve Nnaji. For the first time, Genny threw caution to the wind, and became her real self.

She graced the red carpet in a dazzling white gown that definitely caused heads turning at both her plum toned gown and her elaborate diamond ear-rings.

The award winning actress had her parted cleavage area bare for everyone to see; her light fabric outfit hide just half her breast. While her dressing to the event has continued to generate criticisms even as she has damned the consequences. Her make up and hair style were also spotless. But some of her critics  believed she would have complimented her look with  a necklace.

Another A-list actress that was outstanding at the show was Omosexy. Looking really cool and alluring in her designer’s gown, Omotola who is making waves with her TV reality show was the cynosure of attraction. Joke Silva was also cute in her all-red outfit that made her complexion glow and embellishes her curves.

Rising actress, Osas Ighodaor equally was flawless in her floor length gown, whosoever made that dress deserves a hug flowing white gown.

Style freaks Rita Dominic was also at the show. Karen Igho former Big Brother Africa was there to showcase her ‘bubbling nature. Kunle Afolayan showed off his ‘baba olowo’ with his traditional wear. Most of the male actors were comfortable in their suites.

Except Jim Iyke who practically shocked his fans when he stepped out on stage dressed in a double breasted jacket and shorts! Indeed, from all indication, the inaugural edition of AMVCA  brought with it a stream of A-list stars, dazzling dresses, sharp suits and smiles so white they would  bruise your eyes.
