ABUJA- FORMER Minister of transport and a member of Board of Trustees, BoT of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Ebenezer Babatope Friday said that  late Professor Chinua Achebe was bold and visionary like late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

According to Chief Babatope, despite  the fact  he disagreed  with his Leader,  Papa Obafemi Awolowo, Achebe was a professor of progressive politics, adding that he was devastated by the news of his death.

Babatope said, “Iam devastated by the  news of the  death of Professor Chinua Achebe. He was a great intellectual who used his intellectualism to advance the  cause of the common people.

” Despite the  fact that  he in his lifetime disagreed with my Leader Papa Obafemi Awolowo, Achebe was a professor of progressive politics and like Papa Awolowo, Professor  Chinua Achebe was bold, and visionary. He will for long be remembered.”
