ONDO State commissioner for natural resources, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, wants the police to expose those behind the acid bath on a former member of the state Task Force on Forest Reserves,, Mr Adetutu Ajisafe.
Oluboyo said the assailants should be made to face the full wrath of the law.
Speaking with Sunday Vanguard in Akure, he described the attack as barbaric.
The commissioner said he was embarrassed by the claim that linked him with the attack and promised to assist security agents in fishing out the perpetrators.
Oluboyo denied any involvement in the attack.
According to him, the victim was a member of the task force dissolved by him when he assumed duty as commissioner in the state in 2011.
The commissioner noted that it took the ministry two months to retrieve government properties in Ajisafe’s possession after the task force has been dissolved.
He recalled writing a petition to the state commissioner of police over alleged impersonation by Ajisafe after he had been disengaged from the task force.
“I have never set my eyes on him for a long time. I don’t have cause to call him and wonder why he was claiming that I called him on phone to threaten him, let the security investigate”.
Ondo State police image maker, Wole Ogodo, confirmed that the victim was still unconscious and had not been able to finger those behind the dastardly act.
Ogodo described as false a report that the victim accused some Labour Party chieftains in the state and the commissioner for natural resources of masterminding the attack.
