Afcon: CAF fines Zambia $3,000 for four yellow cards

The Zambia Football Association has been fined 3,000 dollars for the four yellow cards received by its team during the match against Ethiopia on Monday.

The Disciplinary Board of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) announced the disciplinary measure in Johannesburg on Thursday.

Zambia and Ethiopia played a 1-1 draw at the opening match of Group C in the ongoing 2013 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Erick Mwanza, spokesman of Zambia FA, confirmed the disciplinary measure.

The players, who received the yellow cards, were Joseph Musonda, Stopilla Sunzu, Collins Mbesuma and Chisamba Lungu.

The disciplinary board also sanctioned Ethiopian supporters at Mbombela Stadium for throwing plastic bottles and vuvuzelas onto the pitch.

Ethiopian Football Association was fined 10 000 dollars for the offence, Ethiopian goalkeeper, Jemal Tassew, was also suspended for two matches for receiving a red card.
