ORGANISED Labour in Adamawa State, has condemned the move by the state House of Assembly to pass a bill seeking to prohibit strikes by essential service workers into law.

This has since been followed in subsequent cases. In Ojukwu v. Obasanjo & Others (2004) 12 NWLR (pt.666) 169 the question which called for determination at the Supreme Court was whether Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, having been appointed as Head of State in 1976, was disqualified from contesting the office of President in 2003 having also served in that capacity from 1999 to 2003.

AHEAD the July 14 governorship election in Edo State, the Oghomwan Mandate Group, OMG, a socio-political organisation in the state, has petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police, zone 5, Benin City, over comments credited to leader of Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, NDPVF, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, on the forthcoming election in the state.
