ADO EKITI— Barely 24 hours after the installation of Princess Jolaade Onipede as the Regent of Ilasa Ekiti,Ekiti State government has annulled her appointment, as it has announced another woman as a new regent.

The Ambassador  was installed the new regent of Ilasa Ekiti on Tuesday at an impressive ceremony which was witnessed by some chiefs, women leaders  and those in the royal family of the two ruling houses in the town

Princess Onipede, a former commissioner in the state and a current Ambassador to Republic of Congo, emerged a regent following the demise of her father,Oba Abel Ajibola, the Alasa of Ilasa Ekiti in Ekiti East Local Government area of the state in October 1,2012

Reacting, Princess Onipede said what the government did was a ruse.“It is a ruse, They  do not know the tradition of Ilasa,”she said.
