Delta group lauds Gov Uduaghan

DELTA Focus Group,a socio-political group, on Thursday commended Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan for re-nominating Mr. Oritsua Kpogho as board Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC.

The group in a statement by its Chairman, Comrade Joshua Egun Okoh, Comrade Sunday Ohwoyigho, Secretary and PRO Comrade Saturday Mofoye held that Kpogho’s re-nomination was a welcome development.

Describing Dr Uduaghan as a visionary leader who always paved way for the wish of his people to prevail, the statement said his decision to reappoint Kpogho whom he said was a seasoned technocrat, further testified to the governor’s commitment to the accelerated development of the state.

“Before the board was dissolved, the commission under the chairmanship of Kpogho had already earmarked so many people-oriented projects for all the oil bearing communities across the state.

With his re-nomination, the communities would in no distant time witness massive execution of these projects in line with the mandate area of the commission.

Similarly, the youth wing of Ijaw Host Oil and Gas Producing Communities, Delta State Chapter,on Thursday hailed Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for re-nominating Mr Kingsley Otuaru as commissioner representing the Ijaw ethnic nationality on the board of DESOPADEC.

In a statement issued by Comrade Clifford Atijere and Comrade Present Ipopo, Chairman and Secretary respectively, the group said the reinstatement of the board was a wise decision by the state governor.
