HE left the shores of the country more than a decade ago in search of a musical direction. Now, he has found it and he is back to present it to Nigerians.

Athens, Greece based Nigerian reggae music star, SK Rootman is currently on vacation in the country. He is also using the period to seek for acceptance for his music.

“I am in Nigeria on vacation and also to use the visit to showcase my music to my people that I have been representing all these years in faraway Athens so that they will know that I have flown the Nigerian flag really high,” the small frame, eclectic singer said in an interview last week.

SK Rootman shook Greece to her foundation when he made history as the first Nigerian to set up the Dancehall Massive concert in 2005. He was instantly dubbed the Dancehall King of Athens. He had performed shows at the biggest clubs and concert venues in Athens such as Magna Bootycall, All African Festival, Unceo, Mama Africa, Athens and most African Embassies.

SK Rootman had played alongside artistes such as Max Romeo, Capleton, Akon, One Drop Forward, Tuface, Olu Maintain, Dnafo Drivers, Dispero, Zulu Zulu, African China, and Kefee among many others when they came to Athens.

He has one single and a complete album with Itune Stores. The complete album was released under Sony, Greece. His kind of music is fast paced dancehall in the mode of Sean Paul, Capleton, and Bennie Man.

“And trust your boy, I have infused the Nigerian feel that is now making heads reel in Athens because you know we got game, Nigerians. I took from them (Greeks) and added our own to prepare the mix and it’s been a wonderful experiment,” SK Rootman said.

And on his mission in Nigeria? He said: “I am here to meet people that run the promotions and marketing of music as well and records label executives for us to work out a possible area of collaboration.
