Gov. Obi, contrary to criticisms trailing his constant visit to schools, said his critics should know that education remains the most potent instrument for advancing civilization.

The governor made this declaration Friday at Christ the King Secondary School, Onitsha, during the routine visit to some schools in the state.

Gov. Obi distributed treated mosquito nets to the school visited, which he said was DFID’s support to the State for the eradication  of malaria in the State.

He said that the decision to share the nets in schools, among other places, was part of  efforts to see that the nets reached those who truly need them.

Also the Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Uju Okeke said the personal supervision of distribution of nets to schools is one of the examples of committment to good governance and service delivery to the people by the governor.

She lauded the  governor for providing  boreholes, computers, equipped laboratories, Internet connectivity, generators, buses and other facilities to schools in the state.
