The Lagos State branch of the Association of Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (AMMPON) has pleaded with abductors of the missing journalist, Alhaji Rasak Gawat to release him without further delay in the spirit of Ramadan.
Speaking after a meeting of the group in Lagos, the interim chairman, Alhaji Taiwo Junaid explained that the release of Gawat at this period would put smiles on the faces of many Nigerians.
Alhaji junaid stated that the abductors should consider the trauma the family is going through as a result of the continued absence of their bread-winner, adding that Muslims and non-Muslims benefit spritually and materially throug the Edide-Ejisari anchored by Gawat during Ramadan.
The association also used the opportunity to alert security forces on the need to be alive to their responsibilities. AMMPON wondered “how a Television personality could have been taken away for three weeks without any clue of his whereabouts”.
The organisation called on Nigerians to pray for divine intervention inoder to re-unite Gawat with his family.
